Apr-17 Workshop on bullying in Middle and High schools

On April 17th Connecticut dept of Ed/American Asian Pacific Commission/CAIR-CT are launching a workshop on bullying in Middle and High schools and how to combat it. The first session is at ICNL on April 17 at 1:00 pm.

Bullying Awareness and Prevention workshop was held at the ICNL. The high attendance indicated the seriousness of the verbal & physical components of bullying in schools across the country. The social and emotional well being of children are at risk on a daily basis as bullying goes sometime undetected and or improperly prevented.

The purpose of the workshop was to raise awareness, and educate the community. Professional advice was provided for those who had specific questions relating to their rights when reporting bullying.

The workshop panel consisted of Mongi Dhaouadi Executive Director of the Council on American Islamic Relations, Dr. William Howe from the CT State Department of Education and Cherly Sharp, and Alix Simonetti from the Commission of Human Rights and Opportunities.
