CAIR Know Your Rights

May-22 Council on American Islamic Relations Connecticut and Oklahoma Chapters are teaming up to present a joint workshop on Know Your Rights. Br. Razi Hashmi- the Executive Director of CAIR-OK and Br. Hamza Collins, Civil Rights Director of CAIR-CT will co host the event.

The goal is to inform the community on important issues related to civil rights and to share chapters experiences in handling civil rights cases; and, to discuss some of the similarities and differences with regards to issues Muslims communities are facing in various places.

Br. Hamza Collins has been the Civil Rights Director for CAIR-CT since the chapters inception in 2004 and he is an active member of the ICNL.

Br. Razi Hashmi is the Executive Director of the Council on American-Islamic Relations in Oklahoma (CAIR-OK). Since 2007, he has developed relations with the media, interfaith leaders, governmental officials, educators, law enforcement, and various other civic leaders to further the mission of CAIR. Hashmi graduated from Dickinson College in Carlisle, PA in 2006 with a Bachelor of Arts in International Studies focusing in the Middle East and a minor in Philosophy. Hashmi is born to a Pakistani father and an American mother, and was raised in Connecticut.
